Jessica A. Anleu

Jessica Anleu (formerly Jessica Lewis) is an experienced immigration attorney with a decade of immigration experience. She specializes in removal defense, including bonds, and innovative forms of relief for detained and non-detained clients. She has extensive experience in removal defense, presenting asylum cases, appellate arguments, state court dependency proceedings, juvenile visas, U Visas and more.

She is a native of Phoenix, Arizona and is fluent in Spanish. She graduated from the Gonzaga University School of Law in May 2013. She spent a year in Guatemala and worked for the Human Rights Ombudsman in Guatemala City. Living in Guatemala City greatly impacted her life, where she could experience first hand not only living in a foreign country, but also the hardships many face outside the United States. She focuses her firm on providing clients personal attention, where a case is not just a “number,” but where the client is treated like family.

She previously was Senior attorney at an immigration firm, has worked with the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office, the Washington State Office of the Attorney General and interned at Fairfield Air Force Base JAG office. She is a member of the Arizona and Washington state bar.

She is married to a fellow immigration lawyer and has two beautiful girls. She enjoys traveling, learning about other cultures and advancing the rights of immigrants in the United States.

Mario L. Anleu Roque

Mario L. Anleu Roque is an associate at Zava Immigration Law Group, where he specializes in Removal Defense and Family-Based Petitions in Arizona.

Originally from Guatemala City, Mario graduated from Rafael Landivar University with degrees as a Lawyer and Notary in 2012. He practiced law in Guatemala working with one of the country’s most prestigious banks. After emigrating to the United States in 2015, Mario pursued his passion for immigration law, driven by his own experiences as an immigrant.

Mario earned his Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and is admitted to practice law by both the New Mexico Supreme Court and the Arizona Supreme Court.

In addition to his private practice, Mario has provided pro bono legal assistance to underserved immigrant communities through the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project.

In 2023, Mario and his wife Jessica founded Zava Immigration Law Group after working for over 9 years in a large law firm. They established their firm to deliver the personalized attention they felt was often missing in larger firms, aiming to offer more individualized and attentive legal services to their clients.

Fluent in Spanish, Mario is dedicated to advocating for clients and helping them navigate the complexities of the U.S. immigration system with a personal touch.

Narce Ocano

Narce Ocano is the senior paralegal at Zava Immigration Law Group. Narce’s mother is a native to Mexico and so Narce understands first hand the stress of a family member trying to obtain lawful status in the United States. Narce has worked in immigration for over 6 years. Prior to Zava, she worked as a paralegal focusing on removal defense, work permits, USCIS and consular processing. Narce enjoys working with clients and is focused on helping them make this already stressful process as smooth as possible.

In her free time, she loves taking trips up north and hiking. She also loves to read, explore local coffee shops and support small businesses.
